Internet Service Providers (ISPs) » ISP Not Found
- You’ve landed on this page if we lack information about your Internet Service Provider;
- For customers of Canadian ISPs (e.g. ADSL or Cable wholesalers) or hosts (e.g. universities), we invite you to collaborate with us;
- For customers of non-Canadian ISPs, we have provided information about the status of expanding our service beyond Canada.
Unfortunately, we don’t know whether your Internet Service Provider (ISP) uses Deep Packet Inspection, likely for one of two reasons: (1) lack of information and size of your Canadian ISP; (2) we have detected you are visiting us from a non-Canadian ISP. When we launched the site we drew from public regulatory documents and interviews, but this meant that information on smaller ISPs was lacking. This situation is something that we’re looking to remedy, but need your assistance. The second reason why your ISP may not be in our database is because your ISP is identified as beyond Canada’s borders.
For Canadian ISP Customers
If you use a Canadian ISP, or host (e.g. a university network, such as uvic.ca), and we don’t have information about them please fill out our contact form and include the following information:
- Name of ISP or host;
- Region where ISP operates (alternately, where you receive service from the ISP);
- A link to their webpage
If you can provide the above information to us, we’ll do our best to learn whether or not the ISP or host uses DPI. A page will be created and we’ll note any successes or failures in getting information.
For Foreign ISP Customers
If you’re visiting us using a non-Canadian ISP, then we won’t have information about your ISP in our database. At the moment we are concentrating on gathering information about Canadian ISPs but have long-term plans to separate our database from our website installation. This will facilitate other groups and individuals (such as yourself) adding information about your ISP so that webmasters can install our ISP detection widget to assist their own visitors determine whether their ISPs use DPI equipment.
In the Meantime
While we don’t have information about your particular ISP, we invite you to look at the information about other Canadian ISPs, resources we have collected on DPI, and to contact us to let us know what you think about the website. Alternately, feel free to return to our home page.

Hi – my ISP telus.net is not in your db. Interesting, as I thought telus.net was rather a large Cdn ISP. Perhaps I’m wrong, again.
Anyhow: Telus.net is the DSL arm of Telus.com, who operates in all (?) Canadian provinces and territories.
I suspect they shape traffic, although I’ve not yet tested this.
bellalliant not in data base either……covers ALL the maritimes.
bellaliant.net
Telus.net comes up as ISP not in database in the autodetect, but it is in the database as TELUS Communications Company.
Keep up the good work, though, your efforts are appreciated.
They should be detecting (and was, in our testing) – I’ve passed this along to the web developer
My ISP is also not listed. It could be ca.inter.net or uniserve.ca.
They are listed across Canada.
Bell mobility 3g. Location at this time Chatsworth Ontario. Device is iPhone 3gs.
Yak (www.yak.ca) appears as an “ISP not found.” I get their service in Toronto, but I think that they either operate out of Chatham or Windsor, ON. Right now they offer services in BC, Alberta, Ontario, and Quebec.
Thanks for letting us know, Eric!
My ISP is B2B2C. They’re a wholesaler that uses the Videotron network.

Only the last two bytes of my IP address are shown on the home page. If this correct? If this why my ISP is not identified?
Hi Erik,
Are you browsing from a mobile connection? Feel free to sent a message via the contact form, and I might be able to troubleshoot this and see what’s going on.
